Remember A Charity Week 2022

Will you… give hope to children in Africa by leaving a gift in your Will?

Remember A Charity Week is back from 5th-11th September and throughout the week, the campaign will remind you of the difference you can make when you leave a gift to a charity in your Will, after taking care of your loved ones.

Charitable donations in Wills are also known as legacies, and they raise around £3 billion for UK charities every year.

This year, we were exceptionally fortunate to receive a gift from somebody’s Will which is already making a huge difference to our partner, Watoto Kwanza, in Kenya. After seeking funding for several years, they have finally been able to purchase a second-hand vehicle which is making significant improvements to their work and to the safety of their small team.

Many of the schools running Porridge Clubs are in rural locations and historically, Watoto Kwanza has either had to borrow cars, rent cars or use public transport to access them. This made journeys expensive, difficult, inefficient and unsafe.

Their new vehicle is already improving programme delivery, internal efficiency, project monitoring and ultimately programme expansion, which will ultimately mean even more children born into poverty can access education, leading to them breaking the poverty cycle for their families in the future.

We are exceptionally grateful to the donor who has left a legacy that is already giving hope to children in Africa.
