We are very pleased to announce the expansion of our Education All Month, Every Month programme into Tanzania!

As long-term followers will be aware, this girls' education campaign has been running in Kenya since 2012 and provides sanitary towels, underwear and a monthly education forum to girls whose families simply can't afford to buy sanitary towels. Not only does this programme lead to regular school attendance, it increases secondary school enrolment, reduces the risk of child marriage and improves long-term earning opportunities.

The Tanzanian programme - known locally as Fahari Ya Msichana - will initially run in two schools in the rural, Maasai town of Mateves, located just outside Arusha. It will ensure over 50 girls receive a monthly supply of sanitary towels in addition to regular deliveries of underwear and soap. The education forum will also act as an entry point for engagement on wider issues related to menstrual hygiene including reproductive health and the risks surrounding HIV/AIDS.
