Porridge at Juja Farm
A couple of weeks ago, we introduced you to Kiama Primary School, the newest member of our Kenyan Porridge Clubs programme. Today, we're delighted to introduce the second new school to join in the scheme: welcome Juja Farm Primary School!
The school currently has 986 students enrolled on its books and a local benefactor provides a daily porridge meal for 300 of those. Thanks to your ongoing contributions, our partner, Watoto Kwanza, has been able to extend the programme to an additional 300 youngsters.
Student intake at Juja Farm Primary is steadily increasing as there are few other primary schools in the surrounding area. As such, some pupils walk long distances to reach school so by the time they arrive, they are already hungry and need a boost to help them concentrate in class.
A mug of porridge will help no end in revitalising these hungry students when they arrive at school! We're looking forward to learning about the programme's impact over the coming months and will of course share news here and stories on our social media pages as we receive them.
If you wish, you can of course make a donation so our Kenyan Porridge Clubs can reach even more children in even more schools. Thank you for your continued support and kindness.
