SAFE Uganda - Child Rescue
In addition to holding children's right's awareness forums in schools, mosques, churches and community centres, SAFE Uganda also maintains a Transit Home on the outskirts of the city to temporarily house children who have been rescued, until a permanent residential solution is identified.
Earlier in the summer, they rescued five young children aged between 4 and 9 years old from a house where they had been abandoned by a lady pretending to be their grandmother.
The Transit Home is currently occupied by 16 children, though it has a capacity of 20 and wherever possible and appropriate, they aim to resettle children back into their family homes, ideally within six months of their arrival.
More funds would enable SAFE to resettle children more quickly. If you are able to, please set-up a regular donation to support this important work. Thank you in advance for your kindness.
